SDP Convening 2017 has ended

Communities around the world are embracing the philosophy of "open" to crowdsource knowledge and resources to fuel solutions to intractable problems. The 2017 SDP Convening will be about sharing data tools, research, ideas, and insights in order to make our own collective work better for kids. Join us from May 17 - 19, 2017 at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel (606 Congress St, Boston, MA 02210).

How can educational organizations allocate resources to, develop, design, roll out and train users on data dashboards?

Kathryn Johnson, Data Fellow at Mississippi Department of Education, developed resources to help non-technical users understand, interact and become comfortable with new data dashboards. Michael Lamont, Executive Director of Data and Information Group at Atlanta Public Schools, created a guide to best practices for design. Judith Penny, Executive Director of Accountability and Research at Guilford County Schools invested stakeholders and developed a new data dashboard. Suchint Sarangarm, Deputy Superintendent at Hobbs Municipal Schools, created a data dashboard to ensure user-friendly data communication.

This session will share best practices from these four SDP Fellows’ data dashboards projects at four stages of this iterative process.
