Communities around the world are embracing the philosophy of "open" to crowdsource knowledge and resources to fuel solutions to intractable problems. The 2017 SDP Convening will be about sharing data tools, research, ideas, and insights in order to make our own collective work better for kids. Join us from May 17 - 19, 2017 at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel (606 Congress St, Boston, MA 02210).

Data analysts inform. But do they inspire?

In this session, we’ll explore high-impact editorial and communications techniques that analysts can use to frame their work and share their findings. This discussion is designed to support fellows’ development as communicators for maximum influence.

How can analysts ensure their analyses inspire action and advance important goals? What does “great writing” mean in the context of SDP’s work? In our discussion, we'll explore principles and examples of strong writing and examine strengths and opportunities in a case study (see the attached presentation). This is an unplugged session, driven by your active participation.
