The 2017 SDP Convening will be about sharing data tools, research, ideas, and insights in order to make our own collective work better for kids. The Open Book session is a chance to engage with the ideas of a notable author who hopes to improve the education sector. In Letters to a Young Education Reformer, Rick Hess distills knowledge from twenty-five years of working in and around school reform. Inspired by his conversations with young, would-be reformers who are passionate about transforming education, the book offers a window into Hess’s thinking about what education reform is and should be.
