How do value-added models affect teachers’ overall evaluation? Why should we measure students’ perceptions? Why should we be investing in a new performance management framework?

Chris Cutrona, Analyst at Miami-Dade County Public Schools responded to stakeholder needs following the implementation of value-added measures in teacher evaluation. Jennifer DeNeal, Project Coordinator for Educator Effectiveness at North Carolina Department of Public Instruction invested stakeholders in a state-wide expansion of student perception surveys. Matthew Pahl, Director of Policy, Innovation, and Measurement Division at New Mexico Public Education Department, led the implementation of a new performance management system.

These three SDP Fellows will lead roundtable discussions on how they encountered and addressed stakeholder concerns and knowledge gaps to promote culture change in their organizations.
