SDP Convening 2017 has ended

Jenny Nagaoka is the Deputy Director of the University of Chicago Consortium on Chicago School Research, where she has conducted research for the past 15 years. Her research interests focus on policy and practice in urban education reform, particularly using data to connect research and practice and examining the school environments and instructional practices that promote college readiness and success. She has co-authored numerous journal articles and reports, including studies of college readiness, noncognitive factors, the transition from high school to postsecondary education, authentic intellectual instruction, and Chicago's initiative to end social promotion.Nagaoka is currently leading a project that is building a conceptual framework that identifies the broad range of factors critical for young adult success and consolidates current understanding of how these factors can be fostered in schools, homes, and communities from early childhood to young adulthood. She is also directing a project that is developing a framework and tools for early warning and college readiness indicator systems. She is also directing CCSR’s work to develop and disseminate a series of individual school reports on the school performance and college success of students in the Chicago Public Schools.
